The Bible is known by many names.  In the church it is also referred to as Scripture, God’s Written Word, and God’s Holy Word.  ELCA Lutherans also refer to the Bible as our “Book of Faith.”  At Spirit of Grace, faithful engagement with our Book of Faith is a vital part of our daily life together as it helps to nurture our faith and points us to Jesus and the lives we are called to live as Christians.  As Lutherans, we believe that studying the Bible is most faithfully done in community.  Engagement with our Book of Faith with one another strengthens our community and leads us out into the world to serve the needs of our neighbors.  In our Bible studies we read Scripture together, ask lots of questions, read and listen to what Bible scholars and teachers can bring to the conversation, and we listen to one another.  We may end up with more questions than we have answers, but we are OK with that.

Sunday Morning Study Opportunities

In partnership with First Presbyterian Church, we offer a complete Sunday School program for Kindergarten through 8th Grade and for adults from 9:15a to 10:00a.  Nursery care is provided.  Our high schoolers also meet in the youth room at Spirit of Grace during that time.
